  • Validity of general insurance policies of Euroins SA ends on 7 December 2023, steps to follow at the Policyholders  Guarantee Fund

FGA draws attention to the fact that, the insurance policies concluded by Societatea Euroins Asigurare Reasigurare SA shall automatically be terminated on December 7th, 2023, except for those classified in the insurance class 15- Guarantees, policies that will cease on February 5th, 2024, in accordance with the provisions of Law no. 85/2014 with subsequent amendments and completions.

After December 7th, 2023 (the last day of validity of insurance policies concluded by Societatea Euroins Asigurare Reasigurare SA, except for those classified in the insurance class 15 – Guarantees) insurance creditors may address FGA with a payment request for a premium refund , Annex 9 to ASF Norm no. 24/2019, to request the refund of the premium difference for the period remaining uncovered.

 In the case of insurance policies for which the rightful termination has operated, no further action is required for the purposes of notifying the insurer of the termination of that insurance policy.

Payment requests for a premium refund – Annex 9, can be made online, on the dedicated portal: https://portal.fgaromania.ro, in which case the registration number of the request will be automatically received.

Solving of claims files

FGA will continue to process requests for opening a claim file received from applicants of the Euroins Asigurare-Reasigurare SA Company, for events produced until December 7th, 2023, including.

Submission of payment requests regarding the granting of compensation

We remind potential insurance creditors that in order to obtain compensation / indemnities it is necessary to submit a payment request to the Fund.

Payment requests accompanied by supporting documents can be formulated starting from the date of withdrawal of the insurer’s operating authorization, but no later than 90 days from the date of the final decision of the decision to open the bankruptcy procedure or from the date of birth of the right to claim, when it was born later, under penalty of forfeiture.

 In order to ensure a principle of fairness in the relationship with all insurance creditors, we register and solve payment requests /premium refunds in the order of their receipt at the Fund, without the possibility to rush/prioritize the requests, at the request of the petitioners.
